Demand for food increases during the Holiday Season. We’re working together to allow everyone to celebrate with dignity. The donations collected are also used in the months following the Media Food Drive when contributions are scarcer, but the needs are still there.
The media and partners of the Media Food Drive lend their voices and resources to help redistribute donations to regional organizations supporting special initiatives during the Holidays as well as during the following months across Quebec.
Our partners allow us to deploy a real network that transports collected food to local food banks for redistribution to people in need.
The first edition of the Media Food Drive was born in 2001. The late actor Rita Lafontaine served as its spokesperson. The initiative brought together 16 media outlets and took place only in the Montreal region.
Inspired by the success in Montreal, four regions joined the Media Food Drive: Quebec City, Saguenay, Gatineau and Trois-Rivières.
For the first time, the Media Food Drive raised more than $1 million.
The Drive now covers all of Quebec!
The collection reached a new milestone, raising $3 million
An emergency campaign to alleviate the economic impact of COVID -19 was organized, raising $1.2 million.
